World Tourism Organization expects global international tourist arrivals to drop by 70% in 2020

After the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, the United Nations World Tourism Organization established the Global Tourism Crisis Committee in March this year to guide the world's tourism industry in responding to the epidemic. Zurab Pololikashvili said that the United Nations World Tourism Organization has always called for the restart of the tourism industry in a safe and responsible manner, and the restoration of revitalization and the removal of travel restrictions are the current top priorities. Strong cooperation between governments and between corporate departments is the key to accomplishing these two tasks.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization predicts that in 2020, the number of global international tourists will drop by 70%, international tourists will drop by 700 million, and global tourism revenue will drop by US$730 billion.

The CEO of the Asia Pacific Travel Association, Mario Hardy, said in a video that with the launch of the new crown vaccine, he believes that it will inject new vitality into the recovery of the tourism industry, and at the same time, it is necessary to continue the current epidemic prevention work to the end.
